Senate Candidates to Debate in West Virginia, Today...But They're from Virginia

HIDE AND SEEK IS OVER, IT'S TIME FOR CONGRESSWOMAN CAPITO TO DEBATE

This morning's debate between two Senate candidates from Virginia -- which will take place at The Greenbrier in West Virginia -- is a reminder that there is still no debate on the books in the West Virginia Senate race. The reason: Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito refuses to come forward and set dates so the people of West Virginia can have their questions answered in an open and honest forum in their communities.

Congresswoman Capito's evasiveness comes after she previously agreed to five televised debates with West Virginia Secretary of State Natalie Tennant. On primary night, Congresswoman Capito said, "I've always debated in my competitive races. I've planned on debating. Sure, let's debate."

But more than two months after accepting the debate challenge, it's been nothing but crickets from Congresswoman Capito. The longtime Congresswoman has not accepted any debate dates.

What's more, Congresswoman Capito has called for as many as 20 debates in past campaigns, according to the Charleston Daily Mail.

With so many important issues at stake this November, West Virginians deserve to have their voices heard. It's time to debate.
